Parent coaching in Thousand Oaks
Support for you, so you can support your kid.
Parenting a kid who’s struggling is exhausting, especially when nothing you try seems to land. Maybe your teen won’t talk to you, every homework night ends in tears, or you’re not sure whether what you’re seeing is ADHD, autism, anxiety or just being a teenager. Parent coaching gives you a place to step back, understand what’s going on and decide what to do next.
Schedule a free 15-minute callUnderstanding your kid, and yourself
Every family is different, so we start with what’s happening in yours. Parents often come in wanting help with:
- Making sense of meltdowns, shutdowns, avoidance and big reactions
- Talking so your kid is more likely to listen, and to talk back to you
- Supporting a neurodivergent child, with or without a diagnosis
- School stress, homework battles and screen time
- Setting limits without constant power struggles
- Repairing after hard moments, on both sides
- Taking care of yourself so you don’t burn out
What you’ll walk away with
Parent coaching isn’t just talking about the problem. Each session ends with something concrete to try at home, and we adjust together based on what happens.
A clear read on what’s going on
Whether you’re seeing overwhelm, anxiety, sensory overload or a skill that isn’t there yet, so you respond to the real need, not just the behavior.
What to say in the hard moments
Simple scripts for meltdowns, shutdowns and arguments, and what to say afterward once everyone is calm.
Limits that hold without a fight
Ways to set expectations your kid can actually meet, and follow through without escalating.
Routines that fit your kid’s brain
Mornings, homework, screens and bedtime, set up around how your child works instead of against it.
A plan for repair
How to reconnect after a blowup, so hard moments build trust instead of distance.
Tools for you
Ways to stay steady when your kid isn’t, because your calm is one of the most powerful tools you have.
Between sessions, you try one or two things. Next time, we look at what worked, what didn’t and why, and build from there. Small changes add up.
Built around the relationship, not fixing your kid
Parent coaching sessions are 50 minutes, for parents and caregivers, without your child in the room. You come on your own or with a co-parent. Some parents come for a few focused sessions, and others meet regularly through a hard season. It works on its own or alongside your teen’s therapy with me.
My approach draws on Attachment-Based Family Therapy and a neurodivergent-affirming lens. We focus on what’s happening between you and your child: what each of you needs, where you keep missing each other and how to reconnect. You leave each session with a clearer picture of your kid and practical next steps.

Will my child come to sessions?
No. Parent coaching is for parents and caregivers only, so you have space to speak freely. Co-parents are welcome to come together.
