Whatever brings you in, whether anxiety, depression or emotional overwhelm, we look at what’s underneath.

A particular interest

Neurodivergent-affirming therapy

I have a particular interest in working with people who are neurodivergent, late-diagnosed or still wondering, and with anyone navigating masking, burnout, identity and self-understanding. Growing up neurodivergent often means growing up misunderstood, and that shapes how you connect with others. We look at both. Neurodivergent-affirming therapy →

Meet your therapist

Hi, I'm Emily.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT #164438) and a Pepperdine graduate. I work with teens, adults, couples and families who are tired of feeling misunderstood.

What sets my work apart

  • Trained in Attachment-Based Family Therapy, a structured approach to repairing parent-teen relationships
  • Parents stay part of the work, with separate parent sessions
  • Experience in adolescent residential treatment and intensive outpatient programs
  • Neurodivergent-affirming, shaped by my own lived experience

Sessions with me are warm, direct and collaborative, with a good amount of humor. The work is serious, and we still get to laugh. Fidget toys, stim tools and half-finished coffee are always welcome.

Outside the office, you’ll find me trying local coffee shops, rewatching Friends for the hundredth time or making friends with every dog I meet.

How I work

How you connect, and what happens when it’s too much

A lot of what brings people to therapy comes down to two things: how you connect with yourself and the people you love, and what happens in your body when life gets overwhelming. The two are tied together. Feeling misunderstood sets off your nervous system. Being dysregulated makes it harder to stay close. We work on both.

How you treat yourself

The voice in your head, the standards you hold and how you handle mistakes.

How you connect with others

What you learned about having needs, asking for comfort and staying close.

What happens when it’s too much

Shutting down, blowing up, freezing or overthinking. How your nervous system responds to stress, and how to find your way back to calm.

What happens between you

The patterns that repeat with a parent, partner or friend, and how to repair after a rupture.

My approach is attachment-focused and neurodivergent-affirming, with practical tools from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Different brains regulate in different ways, and that isn’t a flaw in how you connect. More on this →
