Emily Chane, LMFT
I became a therapist because of my own experiences. I know firsthand what it’s like to move through a world that wasn’t built for the way your brain works. I also know what it’s like to sit on the other side of the room, and how much it helps to have a therapist who truly understands you. I wanted to be that for others.
I bring personal and professional experience to my work with neurodivergent teens, adults, couples and families. My goal is for therapy to be one place where you don’t have to explain yourself first.
I’m warm, direct, and collaborative. Direct means I’ll tell you what I notice, honestly and with care, instead of nodding along. My approach is relational and psychodynamic. I also bring humor into sessions. The work is serious, and we still get to laugh. I draw on attachment and family systems work to help you see the patterns in your life and relationships.
Relational, collaborative and rooted in depth work
Psychodynamic
We look at how past experiences and patterns outside your awareness shape how you feel and relate today.
Attachment-focused
We explore how early relationships shaped the way you connect, trust and reach for support now.
Family systems
We look at you within your relationships and family, since each person’s patterns affect everyone else’s.
Education and training
Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Level 1 Trained
Adult and adolescent residential treatment
Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs
Outside the office
Outside the office, I love spending time with family and friends and trying the local coffee shops. I’m also usually rewatching Friends for what might be the hundredth time. Yes, I have strong opinions about whether Ross and Rachel were on a break.
