Frequently asked questions
Don't see your question? Reach out and I’ll answer it. Yes, even the one you think is too small to ask.
Do you take insurance, and what will I pay?
For individual therapy, I’m in network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Cigna. With insurance, you pay your plan’s copay or coinsurance. Coverage varies by plan, so reach out before your first session and I’ll help you check. About individual therapy →
Couples and family therapy are private pay. My private pay rates are $180 for individual sessions and $210 for couples and family sessions. If you’re paying out of pocket, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of costs before you start.
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes. Couples and family sessions are 60 minutes.
How old are the clients you work with?
I see kids, teens, and adults from age 10 and up. More for parents here.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. I offer secure video sessions for clients anywhere in California. In-person sessions are at my Westlake Village office. More on online therapy →
Where is your office?
My office is at 5743 Corsa Ave, Suite 125, Westlake Village, CA 91362. I also offer telehealth for anyone in California. See the areas I serve →
Do you offer ADHD or autism assessments?
I don’t provide formal assessments. You don’t need a diagnosis to work with me, though. Many clients come in still exploring whether ADHD or autism fits their experience, and we work with what you’re living either way. If you want testing, your primary care doctor or insurance plan is a good place to start. About neurodivergent-affirming therapy →
What happens in the first session?
We talk about what brings you in, what you want to change and whether we're a good fit. You don’t need to prepare anything. If you’ve already rehearsed it in the shower, that works too.
How long does therapy last?
It depends on your goals. Some clients come for a few months. Others stay longer. We check in on progress along the way.
Is what I say confidential?
Yes, with a few legal exceptions, such as a risk of serious harm. I'll go over these in our first session.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less notice, or missed altogether, are charged the full session fee.
